Surely the point about Jack is that he is so totally relaxed about sex that it isn’t part of his character at all - no hang ups, no problem. Writing Jack I found I had to have the other characters (the Doctor and Rose) talk about his epically flexible sexuality, rather than him - cos for him it’s background noise. All he’d do is shrug and ask what the big deal is.

I get extremely annoyed when I'm told to take a "chill pill". No, I will not take a chill pill, i'm perfectly justified in being pissed at you, and your little offhand comment, that was completely unnecessary, has only succeeded in putting me in a worse mood.
What I think is worse, and more sexist, than “take a chill pill” is “calm your tits”. No. I have every right to be upset, and “calm your tits” is like saying “you need to calm down because the reason you’re over-reacting is because you have ovaries.”
